This may sound arrogant but most people haven’t been taught to think critically never mind evaluate a research paper without some specific training. Much of psycho/social/educational papers are printed if there is a statistical difference. This has nothing to do with clinical significance and only means that it’s not coincidental. Drawing conclusions from this type research is even difficult for the professionals. Mental health research,unfortunately, is very contradictory, theory filled and very confusing to most lay people.
